The Swedish Transport Administration test has 70 questions. Five are trial questions that do not count towards the result, so the maximum score is 65.

You need at least 52 out of 65 points to pass. You have 50 minutes, starting when you begin the test yourself after the introduction.

A category B theory test passed on or after 19 August 2026 is valid for one year. A test passed before that date is valid for four months. You must pass the driving test within that period.

You need a learner permit to book a test. Both parts of the risk training must be completed and valid when you arrive for the theory test. Bring valid identification and arrive in good time.

Yes, you can book another test. The Swedish Transport Administration allows only one theory test per day for the same licence category, so you cannot retake category B later that day.

The Swedish Transport Administration offers the theory test in several languages. You can apply for support such as extra time, an oral test or an interpreter. Check the available options before booking.

Study theory across all five knowledge areas and practise applying rules in different situations. Questions online or from an instructor, including KörkortKlar questions, are practice material, not the same questions as the official test.

You can try five questions without an account. A free account lets you take a timed 30-question knowledge test and read three selected theory chapters. The FAQ and other public information pages are open without an account.

You must be at least 18 to get a category B licence. You also need, among other things, a valid learner permit, valid risk training, and passed theory and driving tests. Check all requirements with the Swedish Transport Agency.

You can practise driving a passenger car from age 16 if you have a group I learner permit. Private practice also requires an approved supervisor. For a light truck or light trailer, the minimum age is 17 years and 6 months.

Book and pay for official tests through the Swedish Transport Administration booking service. KörkortKlar provides practice and does not book official tests. You need a learner permit to book a test.

Change or cancel with the Swedish Transport Administration at least 24 hours before the test to avoid a late-change fee. A timely cancellation is refunded; payment for a booked test carries over when you reschedule. If you are under 18 when booking, the test fee must be paid at least 25 hours before the test.

The Swedish Transport Administration currently lists the B theory test at SEK 420 in daytime and SEK 520 after 18:00 or on weekends. The B driving test is SEK 1,000 or SEK 1,400 respectively. Photography and possible car rental can cost extra. Always check the current official price list before booking.
