This chapter gives you an overview of:

• Adjust your speed to visibility, road conditions, traffic and the vehicle's condition. The speed limit is the maximum permitted speed, not necessarily a suitable speed.
• Reaction distance increases in proportion to speed.
• Braking distance increases approximately with the square of speed. Doubling speed makes braking distance about four times as long.
